Today my dad encouraged forced us to go on a walk with my two aunties (Tai, Phuppo Number 3 and my two cousins). I was sitting comfortably in my nighties and had absolutely no desire to go and get sweaty at all. However, my dad was persistent (read: he yelled a lot) and made us go practically threw us out of the house. Us meaning me and Sisters Number 1 to 3.

I went in my nighties, my black jubba, white shawl and my dad’s slippers.

I have, actually, been on these crazy long walks with my aunties before. The first time we went, my aunties wore their shalwar kameez with trainers underneath. Absolutely mortifying. My Phuppo walked with her arms swinging by her side as if she was about to take off flying, and half way into the journey she started singing. O_o Crazy, I know.

I think it was the third time that we went when my mum collapsed. She was too tired and just gave up and sat on the ground. It was hilarious. My aunties started joking that my dad would tell all his mates that his wife needed a truck to come pick her up because she couldn’t handle walking (my dad is a loony like that).

We stopped going after my mum’s embarrassing debacle, simply because she couldn’t do it (which was a shame since I kinda missed my aunty singing).

However, today we had just had to go. (My dad wants us to become healthy and my mum wants us to be skinny so other people will us.)

On today’s walk we all grouped up in pairs, some walking ahead of others and some five miles behind. Cousin F and I were at the front, and had a nice whinge about our fathers and how bored to tears we both were in these very lame holidays. She invited me over to her house tomorrow to make pizza (yay!) and just generally hang out (and possibly whine some more. Oh, the joy ).

On the way back home, Sister Number 3 and Cousin M started running to catch up to us, and since we didn’t wanna walk with them, we started running too. The silly women would not let up and kept on running behind us. Cousin F and I were getting breathless, and Cousin F raged, “FAT BITCHES!” I could not stop laughing, it was so hilarious. =D

After a while though, they stopped running and we arrived home, only to be greeted by an amused daddy who informed us that mum had gone and we were locked out. Fantastic. Not. (And, for some reason, my dad finds situations like this quite funny. He is just sadistic.)

We sat outside on our doorstep for a while, catching our breath, fighting with Sister Number 2 (we do this often. ‘Tis fun) and teasing Sister Number 3 because she didn’t know that oil and water don’t mix.

Suddenly, Sister Number 3 had the absolutely ingenious idea to climb through a half open window, grab the key that was inside and let us all in. Us being us, we thought this was a great idea and encouraged her to break and enter into our own home. Minus the break, of course. So Sister Number 2 took off her shoes, stood on the sill and struggled for a few minutes to get in. (We could not be bothered to help her.)

Now my dad, who had by this point sauntered off to the top off the street to talk to some random Pakistani dude, saw what we were doing and yelled, “Oi!” Feeling rebellious, Sister Number 1 got up, laughed, and said, “Come on Sister Number 3! I’ll help ya!” So she pushed her legs up and Sister Number 3 managed to get half a leg into the window.

Then she started screaming.

“Argh, argh, argh!” She was stuck, and we found this hysterical. We laughed and laughed and laughed, while she screamed her head off with part of a leg stuck in a window. We were doubled over with laughter, it was as if the circus had come to town and was putting on a show especially for us! (And any random neighbour who happened to stick their head out the door to see what all the noise was about.)

My daddy looked at us from his spot on the top of the street, and carried on chatting to the dude.

Eventually, after much shrieking, merriment and glee, the (slightly brave and very stupid) Sister Number 3 eventually got her whole body through the window. She grabbed the key, opened the door and let us in.

Then we gorged ourselves on white rice and lentil curry (that’s daal chawal for us desis) and watched The Mentalist.

Happy days.

Okay so, an issue at office being investigated- me being one of the primary witnesses – the problem is, while I have no doubt that the current accusations are true – there are other things in the past that would come up – my testimony to those things, could / WOULD turn the case against the victim – but is it actually moral to give testimony to added twists that would in the end lead to a verdict that is not based solely on the issue under investigation?

Keep in mind – that both things could very easily be proven related – infact, if the factors in the past are taken up, the case going on currently would be deemed nothing but an attempt at defamation. Since I don’t believe this is an attempt at defamation and since even the factor in the past is not a known fact only a something that could be deduced from various incidents - I don’t know, exactly what to state in my statement.

If I answer all the queries totally truthfully, I know that complainant would be totally trashed, which would eventually lead to a dubious character being called innocent. If I don’t answer all the questions truthfully, well, I wont be being truthful, would I?

منظر نامہ: جون 2009ء کے بلاگز کا تجزیہ

اس سے پہلے کہ احباب کی طرف سے ماہ جون ۲۰۰۹ء کے بلاگز کے تجزیے کی فرمائش ہو، ہم نے سوچا کہ پہلے ہی یہ کام سرانجام دے دیا جائے۔ اب جو ہم نے ماہ جون میں سامنے آنے والے اردو بلاگز پر نظر ڈالی تو طویل فہرست نظر آئی لیکن سچ بتائیں تو وہ بلاگز چننا کچھ مشکل لگا، جن کو منتخب کرکے ان کا ذکر کیا جائے۔ کچھ تحاریر، تحاریر کم سوال نامہ زیادہ محسوس ہوئیں اور کچھ تحاریر ایسی کہ پڑھتے چلے جاؤ اور طویل تحریر ختم ہونے پر سوچنا پڑے کہ پڑھا کیا ہے؟ (ہوسکتا ہے یہ ہماری ہی نالائقی ہو) کچھ تحاریر ایسی کہ کسی اخبار یا نیوز سائٹ سے خبر کاپی کی اور کچھ ایسی کہ ایک تصویر یا ویڈیو لگاکر ہاتھ جھاڑ کر اُٹھ گئے، لو جی، بلاگ پوسٹ ہوگئی۔ ایسا لگا جیسے اس مہینے اردو بلاگنگ کو زبردستی گھسیٹا گیا ہے۔

مہنگائی، دہشت گردی، ہزارہا مسائل میں مبتلا پاکستانی قوم کی حالت اس وقت افسوس ناک ہے۔ ان سب مسائل کے سبب عوام نہ صرف ذہنی دباؤ کا شکار ہیں بلکہ اخلاقی اقدار بھی تنزلی کی طرف رواں ہیں۔ ’تیرا ککھ نہ رہوے‘ کے عنوان سے شاکر عزیز لکھتے ہیں:

بددعائیں دینا آج کل پاکستانیوں کا شیوہ ہے۔ بدعائیں چلتے پھرے، بددعائیں اٹھتے بیٹھتے اور بددعائیں نماز کے بعد۔ مولا یہ کردے مولا وہ کردے مولا ان کا ککھ نہ رہے۔ اتنی ساری بدعاؤں کے بعد مجھے لگنے لگا ہے کہ ہم مرد نہیں زنخے ہوچلے ہیں یا ہوگئے ہیں۔

پاکستانی معاشرہ اس وقت بہت بڑی تبدیلی کے عمل سے گزر رہا ہے. ایک طرف عوام میں شعور بیدار ہورہا ہے تو دوسری طرف دیوار سے لگانے والے بھی اپنی کوششوں میں پیہم مصروفِ عمل ہیں. عنیقہ ناز اپنی تحریر ’فتراک کے نخمچیر‘ میں ایسے ہی متضاد رویوں کی طرف نشاندہی کرتے ہوئے دعوتِ فکر دیتی ہیں:

کیا ہوتا ہے ضرورت کا علم، آپ ایف سکسٹین ان سے لیکر اڑانا سیکھ لیں۔ البتہ بناتے وہ اسے رہیں اور اپنی ضرورت کے حساب سے اس میں نئ تبدیلیاں وہ لاتے رہیں۔ پھر ان نئ تبدیلیوں کو آپ ان سے پیسہ دیکر سیکھیں۔ کیا ہوتا ہے ضرورت کا علم، آپ اپنی فوجوں کی صحت کے لئے، جان بچانے والی اشیاءاور دوائیں ان سے خریدیں اور ان کا طریقہ ء استعمال بھی۔ البتہ وہ اس چیز پہ تحقیق کرتے رہیں کہ اسے مزید بہتر اور سستا کیسے بنایا جا سکتا ہے۔۔۔۔۔

چلیں اتنی بڑی باتوں پہ جی کیا جلانا ۔ یہ مجھے کسی نے باہر سے سلائ کی مشین تحفے میں لا کر دی ہے۔ اسکی خوبی یہ ہے کہ یہ بہت ہلکی اور چھوٹی سی ہے۔ میں اسے اپنے ساتھ لیکر کہیں بھی پھر سکتی ہوں۔ اس کا وزن کسی گنتی میں نہیں۔ لیکن لانے والا اس کا مینوئل وہیں بھول آیا ۔ باہر سے کوئ سوراخ نظر نہیں آتا اندر سے یہ بالکل بند لگتی ہے۔ اب میں نیٹ پر بیٹھی سرچ کر رہی ہوں کہ اس میں تیل ڈالنےکا کیا طریقہ ہوگا۔ یہ مشین یہاں کسی نے استعمال نہیں کی اور کوئ مجھے کچھ بھی بتانے سے قاصر ہے۔ کیونکہ ہم سب نے صرف ضرورت کا علم حاصل کیا ہے۔

جب دو مخالف باتوں یا اصولوں کے بیچ انتہائی حد تک ٹھن جائے تو معاشرے میں ٹوٹ پھوٹ کا عمل شروع ہوجاتا ہے۔ دونوں طرف سے اِنتہا کا زور لگتا ہے اور یہ انتہا پسندی اُس ماحول میں بسنے والے انسانوں کی زندگی پر بُری طرح اثرات مرتب کرتی ہے۔ نت نئی ایجادات نے ایک طرف دنیا کو گلوبل ولیج بنادیا ہے تو دوسری طرف دِلوں کے درمیان دوریاں بھی پیدا کردی ہیں۔ اِس بھری دنیا، بھری محفل میں ’تنہا انسان‘ کا ذکر کررہے ہیں فرخ انور کہ

انسان تنہا ہو رہا ہے، تنہائی میں تنہائی کا شکار خوف میں مبتلا انسان تباہی کی جانب بڑھ رہا ہے۔ آج کاالمیہ؟ انسان خود نہیں جانتا کہ المیہ کا پیش خیمہ ہی المیہ کا شکار ہوگیا۔
تنہائی کہاں نہیں رہی؛ گھر میں ہر فرد اپنے اندر تنہا ہوگیا۔ اپنے اپنے دائرہ میں محدود انسان نے اپنی سوچ کو دائروں کی حد میں مخصوص کر دیا۔ دائرے ویژن بڑھانےکی بجائے بصیرت کو مفقود کر رہے ہیں۔ انسان اپنے دائروں میں دوسروں کی سوچ محدود کرتے ہوئےخود فنا ہو رہا ہے۔ کل کا انسان دوسروں کی خاطر خود کو محدود کر کے اَمر ہو رہا تھا۔
خدا کی یاد سےغافل ہو کر کاہل انسان تنہائی کے خوف کا شکار، سہارا کی تلاش میں بے آسرا خود کو محسوس کر رہا ہے، حیرت تو یہ ہے عملی طور پر ہر فرد تنہا ہے، بقول قوم اس ملک کا اللہ ہی مالک ہے۔ ملت خود کو تنہا محسوس کرنے لگی۔ اللہ کی یاد انسان کو کامل یقین عطاء کرتی ہے۔
ہر فرد اپنے رویوں میں خود کو تنہا کر چکا ہے۔ رویّے انسان بناتے ہیں، انسان رویہ سے انسان بگاڑ رہے ہیں، حالات موسم کی طرح مزاج خراب کر رہے ہیں۔ رشتوں، الفتوں، محبتوں، خاندانوں، خانوادوں، مملکتوں، قوموں کو کمزور کرنے میں برسر پیکار رویے ہی ہیں۔

اُردو بلاگنگ کے دائرے میں نئے اضافے یقیناً خوش آئند ہیں۔ کچھ لکھنے والے ایسے ہیں جن کا بلاگ لکھنا اردو بلاگنگ پر اُن کا احسان ہے (اور کچھ ایسے بھی ہیں جن کا نہ لکھنا احسان ہوگا)۔ محمد وارث کا تعلق اوّل الذکر صاحبان سے ہے۔ اُن کی تحریر ’مہربان‘ سے اقتباس ملاحظہ ہو:

اس ‘دشتِ بلاگران’ میں ہمیں بھی ایک سال ہو گیا ہے، مئی 2008ء میں یہ بلاگ بنایا تھا اور اب الحمدللہ ایک سال مکمل ہوا۔ کیا کھویا کیا پایا کا سوال میرے لیے اہم نہیں ہوتا کہ سفر کرنا ہی اصل شرط ہے لیکن نشیب و فراز تو انسانی زندگی کا حصہ ہیں سو اس بلاگ کے ساتھ بھی شامل رہے۔۔۔

اس کے ساتھ ساتھ، یہاں پر یہ بھی ‘اعتراف’ کرنا چاہوں گا کہ بلاگ کی دنیا میں وارد ہونے کے بعد بہت اچھے احباب اور دوستوں سے واسطہ پڑا۔ گو ہمارے بلاگ پر تشریف لانے والے زائرین کی تعداد اس ایک سال میں 10 فی یومیہ کے حساب سے تقریباً چار ہزار ہے اور ظاہر ہے اس میں بھی بہت سے اتفاقیہ یا بھولے بھٹکے تشریف لانے والے ہیں اور مستقل قارئین کی تعداد دونوں ہاتھوں کی پوروں پر بآسانی گنی جا سکتی ہے لیکن پھر بھی میرے لیے مسرت کی بات ہے کہ کم از کم کوئی تو ہے جو جنگل میں اس مور کے ناچ کو دیکھ رہا ہے۔

اِس تحریر میں وارث نے بلاگنگ کی طرف آنے، مختلف مسائل کے درپیش ہونے اور اُن سے نمٹنے کا ذکر بھی کیا ہے اور اُس نامعلوم مہربان کا بھی جس نے اُن کے بلاگ کو انتہائی بُرا قرار دے کر اپنے اعلیٰ ذوق کا اظہار کیا۔ محمد وارث کو مستقل مزاجی سے ایک سال اردو بلاگنگ کرنے اور اِس سے بڑھ کر یہ کہ باذوق معیاری تحاریر پیش کرنے پر منظرنامہ کی جانب سے مبارک باد اور نیک تمناؤں کا اِظہار کہ وہ باقاعدگی سے اِسی طرح لکھ کر ہمارے علم میں اضافہ کا ذریعہ بنے رہیں گے۔ ماہِ جون میں علمِ شاعری پر وارث کی تحریر ’بحرِ مُتَقارِب – ایک تعارف‘ اُن کے علمی ذوق پر دال ہے۔ اگر آپ کے ذہن کے کسی کونے میں کبھی بھی شاعری کرنے کی خواہش نے سر اُبھارا ہو اور آپ نے استاد شعرا کی ڈانٹ کے ڈر سے اپنی خواہش کو تھپک کر سلادیا ہو تو آپ کے لیے وارث کے بلاگ کا مطالعہ بے حد مفید ثابت ہوگا۔ فنِ شاعری پر لکھے گئے بے حد آسان اور عام فہم مضامین سے صرف وارث کی قابلیت سے آگاہی نہیں ملے گی بلکہ یہ مضامین آپ کو باقاعدہ شاعر بننے میں مدد بھی دیں گے۔

نکاح سنتِ رسولﷺ ہے۔ گھر بسنے کے بعد انسان کی حیات کا ایک نیا دور شروع ہوتا ہے۔ نئی ترجیحات، نئی مصروفیات، نئی زندگی۔۔۔ اِس زندگی میں عموماً بہت سی عادتیں اور معمولات کہیں پیچھے رہ جاتے ہیں۔ پھر جب آپ کی زندگی میں ایک نئے مہمان کی آمد ہوجائے (اور آپ شرماتے ہوئے، زیرِ لب مسکراتے ہوئے دو سے تین ہونے کی خوش خبری سنیں) تو جیسے بہت کچھ بدل جاتا ہے۔ لیکن ان سب کے باوجود خاتون اردو بلاگر امن ایمان طویل طویل وقفہ کے ساتھ ہی سہی، لیکن اردو بلاگنگ سے ناتا جوڑے ہوئے ہیں (ہمیں امید ہے کہ انہیں خود کو خاتون لکھے جانے پر اعتراض نہ ہوگا)۔ غیر متوقع طور پر اُن کی تحریر ’خیر مبارک‘ پڑھنے کو ملی۔ لکھتی ہیں:

خیر مبارک۔۔۔!
یہ کہنے میں میں نے کافی دن لگا دیے۔۔اس کے لیے بہت بہت معذرت خواہ ہوں۔۔پہلے بتا دوں کہ خیرمبارک کس بارے تھی۔۔آپ سب نے مجھے میری بیٹی کے پیدا ہونے پر جو ڈھیروں ڈھیر مبارک باد اور دعائیں دی ہیں یہ اس کے لیے ہے۔

پھر ایک عرصہ غائب رہنے کی وجوہات بیان کرتی ہیں:

ایک تو میں تین چار ماہ کے بعد لاہور ماما کے گھر آئی۔۔سسرال میں نیٹ کی سہولت نہیں۔۔پھر یہاں لاہور میں لائٹ جانے کے بدترین اوقات تھے۔۔اس لیے میرے اور نیٹ کے تعلقات جلدی بحال نہ ہوسکے۔۔۔خیر کسی طرح یہ سب مینیج کیا تو خیر سے سارے پاسورڈز بھول گئے اور پھر پاسورڈز ہاتھ چڑھے تو بلاگ پر پرانی تھیم دیکھ کر لکھنے کا دل نہ چاہا۔۔۔پورا ایک ہفتہ اچھی تھیم ڈھونڈنے میں لگا دیا۔۔۔۔جب اچھی تھیمز ہاتھ لگیں تو کوئی تھیم بھی اردو لباس پہننے کو تیار نہ ہوئی۔

یہ تو ان کی عادت ہی ہے۔ اب یہی دیکھ لیں کہ چند دن ہی کے لیے بلاگ پر حاضری دی لیکن بلاگ کا سانچہ تبدیل کیا، اُس کو اردو میں ڈھالا، جہاں مشکلات پیش آئیں، انہیں بلاگ کی ایک تحریر ’کوئی تھوڑی سی نقل کروادے پلیز‘ میں بیان کیا اور اُن کا حل کھوجا۔ اُن کی پیاری سی بچی حبہ کے لیے منظرنامہ کی طرف سے نیک خواہشات اور ڈھیر ساری دعائیں۔

کھانے پینے کا شوق کسے نہیں ہوتا؟ کوئی روایتی دیسی کھانوں کا شوقین ہوتا ہے تو کسی کو فاسٹ فوڈ یا غیر ملکی کھانے کا جنون ہوتا ہے۔ اردو بلاگز میں کہنی سننی، حجاب، ماوراء وغیرہ کے بلاگ پر کھانے پینے کی مختلف تراکیب پڑھنے کو مِلتی رہی ہیں لیکن ماہ رُخ نے تو اردو بلاگنگ میں باورچی خانہ ہی قائم کرڈالا ہے۔ ’ایرانی پیاز سوپ‘، ’لکھنوی قورمہ‘ وغیرہ سمیت ایسی کئی مزے مزے کی تراکیب ہیں جنہیں پڑھ کر کہنا پڑتا ہے کہ ماہ رُخ کے کچن کی کیا ہی بات ہے!

اپنی تاریخ سے دوری اور ماضی ناآشنائی کا ایک نتیجہ یہ بھی ہے کہ ہم خود اپنی حقیقت سے ناواقف ہیں اور اِسی لیے دوست، دشمن کی پہچان میں اب تک ٹھوکر کھاتے چلے آرہے ہیں۔ تاریخ کے ایسے ہی ایک اہم باب سے پردہ اُٹھایا ہے ابوشامل نے۔ یہ داستان ہے ’سقوطِ کریمیا‘ کی جب مسلمانوں کا بڑی تعداد میں خون بہایا گیا۔ ابوشامل رقم طراز ہیں:

وسط ایشیا، قفقاز، وولگا-یورال و کریمیا کی وادیوں کے مسلم اکثریتی علاقوں کا روسی غلامی میں جانا “تاریخ ملت اسلامیہ” کا ایک المناک باب ہے۔ یہ علاقے مسلم اکثریت کے حامل تھے اور کئی علاقوں میں تو اب بھی مسلمانوں اکثریت میں ہیں لیکن اسلامی علوم کی ترویج میں ان علاقوں نے قرون وسطیٰ میں جو کردار ادا کیا اس کے باعث ان علاقوں خصوصاً وسط ایشیا کو بہت زیادہ اہمیت حاصل تھی ۔ جہاں بخارا و سمرقند جیسے عظیم تہذیبی و ثقافتی مراکز تھے جو اسلامی علوم کا منبع تھے۔

ملوکیت کے جابرانہ عہد کے خاتمے کے بعد گو کہ سوویت عہد میں مسلم اکثریتی علاقوں میں علاقوں میں بڑے پیمانے پر صنعتی ترقی ہوئی اور مسلمانوں کا معاشی استحصال اس پیمانے پر نہیں ہوا جتنا نوآبادیاتی دور میں دیگر مسلم مقبوضہ علاقوں میں برطانیہ، اٹلی، فرانس و دیگر قوتوں نے کیا لیکن یہ معاشی ترقی مسلمانوں کو اپنی شناخت اور ثقافت کے بدلے میں ملی۔ اس کے علاوہ سوویت اشتراکی عہد کا ایک کریہہ باب جوزف اسٹالن کا دورِ حکومت تھا جس میں دیگر اقوام کی طرح مسلمان بھی ظلم کی چکی میں بری طرح پسے۔

ابوشامل نے اِسے مسلم ہولوکاسٹ سے تعبیر دی ہے۔ بلاشبہ یہ مسلمانوں کے بڑے پیمانے پر قتل کی داستان ہے لیکن ایسی ہی کئی داستانیں آج ہمارے گرد افغانستان و عراق میں بکھری پڑی ہیں۔ مگر افسوس ناک امر یہ ہے کہ اِن سے سبق حاصل کرنے والا کوئی نہیں ہے۔

کہتے ہیں، فارغ نہ بیٹھو کہ خالی دماغ شیطان کا گھر ہوتا ہے۔ لیکن دیکھئے، سعدیہ سحر کے دماغ میں کیا بات آئی ہے۔ ’آپ بھی سوچیں ذرا‘ کے عنوان سے لکھتی ہیں:

پاکستان میں اتنے عامل پیر فقیر ہیں جن کے قابو میں بڑے بڑے جن ہیں جو بڑے بڑے کام کر سکتے ہیں۔ حکومت کو چاہیے ان سے کو ایک جگہ اکٹھا کریں اور ان سے کہیں چلہ کاٹیں۔ جادو کے زور سے ڈرون طیاروں کے رخ دشمنوں کی طرف موڑ دیں اپنے شاگرد جنوں سے کہیں وہ سب ملک دشمن عناصر کو اٹھا کر ملک سے باہر پھینک آئیں۔ جو عامل محبوب کو قدموں میں ڈال سکتا ہے، وہ دہشت گرد کو حکومت کے قدموں میں کیوں نہیں ڈال سکتا؟ جو عامل پتھر دل محبوب کے دل کو موم کر سکتا ہے، وہ راکٹوں کو موم کیوں نہیں کر سکتا؟

سعدیہ! آپ نے ایک تیر سے دو شکار کرنے کا اچھا خیال پیش کیا ہے۔ عامل باباؤں اور نجومیوں سے ڈفر کو بھی کچھ جلن ہے۔ ’پھر کیڑے‘ کے عنوان سے لکھتے ہیں:

نام نہاد پیروں سے دشمنی بلکہ جیلسی (لفظ جلاپا سے زیادہ کھندک ٹپکتی ہے) تو کافی پرانی ہے لیکن اب لگتا ہے نجومیوں سے بھی دو دو ہاتھ کرنے پڑیں گے۔ مسئلہ میرا یہ ہے کہ دہائیوں کی تعلیم کے بعد بھی مجھے اس بات پر اعتراض ہے کہ میں عالم کیوں نا بن سکا۔ بن نا سکا یہ میری نالائقی لیکن یہ نا اہلی مجھ سے ہضم نہیں ہوتی کہ اپنے آپ کو عالم کہلوا بھی نا سکا۔ اتنا تو بزدل نا تھا کہ اندھوں میں کانا راجہ بننے کی ناکام کوشش بھی نا کرتا۔ ویسے بھی جاہلین کا جو اعلٰی و ارفع درجہ اور تعداد ہمارے ہاں موجود ہے اس کے ہوتے ہوئے مجھے اپنی اس شکست کو تسلیم کرنا چاہئے اور جلد از جلد کسی دو آتشی پیر کے آستانہء عالیہ بلالیہ جلالیہ اور بعد میں ملالیہ پر حاضری دے کر اپنی ناکامیوں کو بخشوانا چاہئے کہ کیا پتا میں دنیا کہ ساتھ ساتھ اپنی آخرت میں بھی تاریکیاں بھرتا رہا ہوں؟

ڈالر۔۔۔ اگرچہ بے جان شے ہے لیکن ہے ایسی کہ نام سنتے ہی لوگوں میں جان آجاتی ہے۔ ڈالرز کے عوض لوگوں کی جان ہی نہیں، ایمان بھی خرید لیے جاتے ہیں۔ نعیم صدیقی مرحوم نے نصف صدی پہلے مال و دولت کی طلب میں تھرکتے جسموں اور پھڑکتے ضمیروں کا اندازہ کرتے ہوئے ایک نظم ’ڈالر! مِرے اِس دیس کو ناپاک نہ کرنا‘ لکھی تھی جسے شعیب صفدر نے پیش کیا ہے۔ کچھ سطور ملاحظہ ہوں:

ڈالر!مرے اس دیس کو ناپاک نہ کرنا
تو ظلم کا حاصل
تو سحر ملو کانہ کا شعبدہ خاص
سرمائے کی اولاد
تو جیب تراشوں کے کمالات کا اک کھیل
تو سود کا فرزند!
افلاس کی رگ رگ کا نچڑا ہوا خوں ہے
بیواوں کی فریاد!
ہے کتنے یتیموں کی فغان خاموش
توضعیف کی اک چیخ
تو کتنے شبابوں کا ہے اک نوحہ دل گیر

کراچی میں حکومتِ سندھ کے آئی ٹی ڈپارٹمنٹ کی طرف سے قومی بلاگرز کانفرنس کیا منعقد ہوئی، دائرۂ بلاگنگ میں کئی اضافے دیکھنے میں آنے لگے۔ پھر کچھ ایسا رنگ نکلا کہ تحریر ایک ہونے لگی، تبصرے پچاس۔ بدتمیز کی تحریر ’مہاجر‘ اس کی روشن مثال ہے۔ لکھتے ہیں:

جب پاکستان بنا تو صرف مہاجرین ’’اردو سپیکنگ‘‘ نہیں تھے۔ آج بین ڈالنے کو صرف اردو سپیکنگ کیوں ہیں؟ بالخصوص ایسے میں جب ان کی تیسری اور چوتھی نسل یہاں پیدا ہوئی ہے یہ لوگ پاکستانی کیوں نہیں بن سکے اور ان کے والدین نے انکے دماغوں میں ’’مہاجر‘‘ زہر کیوں بھر دیا اور یہ آگے اپنی اولادوں میں یہ زہر کیوں منتقل کر رہے ہیں؟

ان کی ٹرمز بھی دیکھ لیں۔ حق پرست پنجابی۔ اگر ان کی بات من و عن تسلیم کر لی جائے تو اپ کو خطاب دیں گے حق پرست پنجابی۔ تائب کارکنان کو نہ جانے کیا خطاب دیتے ہیں جو اصلیت فاش کرتے رہتے ہیں۔

اس تحریر پر ہونے والا مباحثہ ہمارے ٹی وی چینلز سے نشر ہونے والے سیاسی پروگرام سے کسی طور کم نہیں ہے کیوں کہ اس میں ایک دوسرے کے نظریات کے پرخچے بھی اُڑائے گئے ہیں اور ایک دوسرے کی ذات کے بھی۔ یعنی ایک مکمل ٹی وی پروگرام ہے۔

حج ایک ایسا دینی فریضہ ہے کہ بہت سے لوگ اِس کی آرزو لیے دنیا سے گزر جاتے ہیں اور بہت سے لوگ استطاعت رکھنے کے باوجود اس طرف توجہ نہیں کرتے۔ اردو ادب میں سفرنامے لکھے جانے کی روایت بہت پرانی ہے۔ بہت سے ادیبوں نے مقدس سفر حج/ عمرہ کی داستان بھی رقم کی۔ چوں کہ یہ سفر مقدس ہے اِس لیے حج کے اکثر سفرنامے محبت و عقیدت کے جذبات سے لبریز ہوتے ہیں لیکن مشہور ادیب ممتاز مفتی کا سفرنامۂ حج ’’لبیک‘‘ اپنی نوعیت کا منفرد ترین سفرنامہ ہے۔ اس سفرنامہ کو پڑھتے ہوئے آپ شک اور یقین، دونوں کی منزل سے بیک وقت خود کو گزرتا محسوس کرتے ہیں۔ وہاب اعجاز خان نے ’ممتاز مفتی (لبیک)‘ پر ایک تجزیہ پیش کیا ہے۔ لکھتے ہیں:

لبیک ایک متنازعہ کتاب ہے ۔ یہ تصنع بناوٹ اور ریاکاری کے درمیان ، سچ اور خلوص اور جذبے کی ایک مثال ہے ۔ جس نے اپنی حیثیت و اہمیت کو منوالیا ہے۔ لبیک ایک ایسے فنکار کا شاہکار ہے جو تجزیہ کرتا ہے سوچتا ہے محض جذبے میں لتھڑا ہوا نہیں ہے۔ بلکہ سوچ سمجھ کر اس راستے پر روانہ ہوا ہے۔ یہی وجہ ہے کہ اس کتاب کا مزاج دیگر حج ناموں سے ہٹ کر ہے۔ ممتاز مفتی اس رپورتاژ میں عقیدت نہیں پالتے بلکہ عقیدے کو سینچتے نظرآتے ہیں ۔ وہ ایسی کئی باتوں کو منظر عام پر لانے سے نہیں چونکتے ۔ جو دیگر دنیا دار قسم کے لوگ چھپاتے ہیں۔ وہ اپنی داخلی کیفیات کا بیان کھل کر کرتے ہیں۔

وہاب اعجاز خان کے اس تجزیے کے علاوہ پچھلی تحاریر بھی دیکھتے ہوئے ان کے ادبی ذوق کا اندازہ لگایا جاسکتا ہے۔ اُمید ہے ان کے ذریعے ہمیں کئی اچھی کتب سے آگاہی ہوگی۔

دنیا میں دن منانے کا رواج چل نکلا ہے۔ آئے روز کوئی نہ کوئی دن منایا جاتا ہے۔ لیکن اِس بار ایک تجویز ہے ہفتہ منانے کی۔ شگفتہ ’ہفتۂ بلاگستان‘ کی تجویز دیتے ہوئے لکھتی ہیں:

میرا دل ہے کہ ہم سب بلاگرز مل کےایک ہفتہ منائیں یعنی کہ ایک ہفتہ منایا جائے بنام ۔ ۔ ۔ ہفتہ بلاگستان ۔ ۔ ۔ ہلکے پھلکے انداز میں اور کچھ سنجیدہ موضوعات پر بھی بات ہوسکے اس تجویز سے پہلے ایک خیال یہاں پیش کیا تھا۔ ۔ ۔ حالیہ تجویز گذشتہ سے پیوستہ ۔ دراصل کچھ اس طرح سوچا کہ یعنی ایسا سلسلہ ہو کہ تمام اردو بلاگرز دنیا بھر میں جہاں کہیں بھی ہوں سب کی ایک ساتھ شرکت ممکن ہو سکے اور اس طرح سب کی ذاتی مصروفیات بھی متاثر نہیں ہوں گی۔

مختصر مختصر:
محمد علی مکی اس بار جو پاکستان آئے ہیں، ہر کچھ دن بعد ایک خوش خبری سناتے ہیں۔ پہلے اردو سلیکس کا اجراء کیا اور اب اردو اوبنٹو جاری کرکے نیا انقلاب برپا کردیا ہے۔

ہمارے بہت پرانے بلاگر نعمان یعقوب کی والدہ محترمہ گذشتہ دنوں انتقال فرماگئیں۔ انا للہ وانا الیہ راجعون. منظرنامہ اُن سے دلی تعزیت کا اظہار کرتے ہوئے اُن کی والدہ محترمہ کے بلند درجات کے لیے دعا گو ہے۔

ایمان، امید اور محبت میری دوسری کتاب ہے، پہلی کتاب کی طرح دوسری کتاب کی اشاعت میں بھی میری کوئی کردار نہیں ہے۔ صاحب کتاب ہونا رائٹر کی ذمہ داری کو بڑھا دیتا ہے اور میں نے ہمیشہ اس ذمہ داری سے بچنے کی کوشش کی ہے، لیکن شاید اب مجھ کو یہ ذمہ داری اٹھانے کی عادت اپنا لینی چاہیئے۔

اس کتاب میں وہ تحریریں ہیں جو پہلے شائع ہو چکی ہیں۔ انہیں ملنے والے رسپانس سے بھی آپ واقف ہیں میں ان تحریروں کے بارے میں یہی کہوں گی کہ یہ میرے پچھلے تین سال کی نسبتا” بہتر تحریریں ہیں، بہترین نہیں۔۔۔بہترین اس لیے نہیں کیونکہ بہترین کے بعد خلا آ جاتا ہے اور میں ابھی کسی خلا میں پیر رکھنا نہیں چاہتی۔

میں نے کوشش کی ہے کہ میں آپ لوگوں کو زندگی کے کچھ اور رنگ دکھاؤں یا زندگی کو اس اینگل سے دکھاؤں جہاں سے میں دیکھتی ہوں، ہو سکتا ہے آپ کو یہ رنگ بہت پھیکے یا ضرورت سے زیادہ گہرے لگیں۔ یہ بھی ممکن ہے کہ میرا اینگل چیزوں کو یا زندگی کو اس طرح آپ کے سامنے نہ پیش کر سکے جس طرح آپ چاہتے ہیں۔

مگر بہرحال دنیا پر موجود چھ ارب انسانوں میں کم از کم ایک انسان اسی اینگل سے دیکھتا ہے اور وہی رنگ زندگی کے کینوس پر بکھیرنا چاہتا ہے، جو ان کہانیوں کے کردار استعمال کرتے ہیں۔ اور وہ انسان میں ہوں۔

یہ وہ تحریریں نہیں ہیں جو اگر میں نہ لکھتی تو کوئی بھی نہ لکھ پاتا۔ اگر میں انہیں نہ لکھتی تو کوئی بھی لکھ سکتا تھا اور شاید مجھ سے بہتر لکھتا۔

بہت سے لوگوں کی ترجمانی کرتے ہوئے کچھ لکھنا یا کہنا انسان کو بہت خوشی دیتا ہے۔ مگر صرف اپنی ترجمانی کرتے ہوئے اپنی بات کہنا یا لکھنا اس سے زیادہ خوشی دیتا ہے۔ ان تحریروں میں، میں نے اپنی بات کہی ہے یا لکھی ہے۔ ان کو پڑھتے ہوئے شاید آپ انہیں اپنی بات سمجھیں۔

آئیے زندگی میں داخل ہوتے ہیں۔

کچھ عرصہ پہلے پیپسی پر بہت بحث ہوئی بڑے بینر چھپے پمفلٹ تقسیم ہوئے پیپسی کے الفاظ کا خلاصہ کیا گیا کہ Pay Every Penny to Save Israel خطبوں میں دھواں دار تقریریں ہوئیں جلا دو مار دو کا جذبہ جگا دیا گیا بائیکاٹ کا اعلان کیا گیا کس نے چھوڑی پیپسی کس نے چھوڑا کوک مگر کچھ عرصہ بعد سب ٹھنڈا ایسا ٹھنڈا کہ جیسے ٹھنڈا کوک جناب کچھ ہوا ہی نہیں ۔
ایسا ہی ردعمل گستاخانہ خاکوں پر آیا اس گستاخ کے خلاف کچھ ایکشن لیا گیا ۔۔۔۔نہیں۔۔۔۔
بہت مدت ہو گئی کوئی غازی علم دین پیدا نہیں ہوا ۔۔۔کیوں۔ ؟ ۔دنیا سے محبت یا تعلیم و تربیت ہی نہیں ۔
انڈیاء کے خلاف ہم نے کتنی بار جوش دکھایا کتنی بار بائیکاٹ کیا اب کیا ہے گھر گھر انڈین چینل راج کر رہے ہیں ہم کو ہمارے منہ پر برا بھلا کہتے ہیں ہم کیا کرتے ہیں صرف دفتر خارجہ میں بلا کر احتجاج اس سے اچھے تو ہیجڑے ہیں جو کم از کم دونوں ہاتھوں سے تالی بجا کر اپنے غصے کا اظہار تو کرتے ہیں۔

ہم پاکستانی بہت جذباتی ہیں ایسا لگتا ہے ہماری مٹی میں پٹرول شامل ہے ‌ جس کو ھلکی سی چنگاری کی ضرورت ہوتی ہے اور آگ بھڑک اٹھتی ہے ہماری قوم عقل سے کم اور جوش سے زیادہ کام لیتی ہے ۔آج دشمن کوئی بھی ہتھکنڈہ استعمال کرے ہم بنا سوچے سمجھے اپنی ساری توانائی اس پر صرف کر دیتے ہیں کراچی سوات بلوچستان پنجاب میں ہونے والے واقعات اسکا ثبوت ہیں اربوں کا نقصان کرنے کی بجائے ھوش سے کام لیا جائے تو نقصان سے بچا جا سکتا ہے۔ پوری دنیا ہمارا تماشہ دیکھ رہی ہے ہم آپس میں لڑ رہے ہیں یا لڑائے جا رہے ہیں دشمن ہماری کمزوریوں سے واقف ہو چکا ہے ۔ہم نے اپنوں کا سودا کر کے بہت بڑا محب وطن ہونے کا ثبوت دیا ہے ۔ ہم کو ایک زباں ہونے کی بجائے سندھی پنجابی کے چکر میں ڈال دیا گیا ہے سندھی پنجابی کو اپنا دشمن سمجھتا ہے سوات اور بلوچستان والے پاکستان سے مایوس ہو چکے ہیں کشمیر کو ہم نے ویسے ہی بھلا ڈالا ہے ۔ اگر ہم نے آج اپنی نئی نسل کی پرورش ایک پاکستانی کی شکل میں نہ کی انکے ذھن میں پاکستان کی محبت نہ ڈالی تو کل کیا ہو گا سب کو پتا ہے کتنے پاکستان وجود میں آئیں گئے ۔

The discussion has, once again, gained momentum. This time the focus is the Punjab and converting Southern Punjab into a separate province (a ‘Saraiki sooba‘).

The political optics of the situation remain in flux. The PML(N) has reacted to the current discussion with suspicion seeing this as a ploy by PPP to break the PML’s hold over the Punjab. The PPP has reacted, for the moment, with both President Zardari and Prime Minister Gillani saying that no such move is on the cards. That may well be so, and may well be subject to change, but my question for our readers today is whether — irrespective of political motives — creating a new province in Southern Punjab is a good idea or not? And what this may mean, if anything, for other provinces?

First, let me put my own cards on the table. The first time I wrote about this subject was back in the 1980s - in an op-ed in The Muslim I argued for a total of 6 to 8 provinces (each of the current four provinces being redrawn along lines consistent with historic, linguistic and cultural affinities). My most radical idea, then, was to reconsider the provinces not just along the lines of existing provinces but across existing lines (to use language as an example, Hindko, Sindhi, Seraiki, and Pushto speakers all straddle across current provincial lines). My motivation then, and now, stemmed from demographic concerns of concentration of populations, resources and, therefore, power in one province and the attendant feelings of peripheralization felt by other provinces. Importantly, this can - and has - led to a politics of fragmentation and distrust where it becomes too easy to evoke distrust and disdain through legitimate as well as exaggerated fears. There is also the concern about fewer provinces strengthening a provincial group identity at the expense of a national identity as well as of more local identities. Importantly, in the case of the Saraiki belt, the local identity sentiment for a separate province is the strongest reason to support such an initiative.

After writing that piece I remember having protracted conversations on this with the late Dr. Mahbub-ul-Haq who had been arguing for a much more elaborate scheme that woud end with there being 16-25 different provinces. Over the years I have become more and more sympathetic to his developmental argument: that creating smaller provinces will also de-centralize power and localize opportunities - each provincial capital requires a provincial capital infrastructure and create local employment and opportunities and therefore development opportunities get spread around the country rather than being centralized in a few locations.

I tend, therefore, to lean towards this idea. However, practical realities have tended to mute my enthusiasm somewhat. But, only somewhat. I realize, of course, the fracturous politics that will be unleashed in the process of redrawing provincial lines, even though my hope has been that the coalitional politics that will emerge for having more units will be, in fact, less fracturous than our current provincial frictions. There is also the practical matter that while in most of the country the affinities have long historical and cultural roots the demographics in urban Sindh are ‘modern’ and constructed through the traumas of sudden migration patterns. Not surprisingly, the resultant identity politics also tends to be more traumatic.

So, my own leanings on this are clear and I would certainly support a Seraiki province, even if a more elaborate redrawing of provincial units across the country were not possible at this time. Three reasons would make me support such a move: (a) it is a deep demand of the area itself and (b) it begins to balance out provincial distributions and (c) amongst the various cases for provincial redrawings this is clearly the strongest case for the clear cultural and historic affinities and this could serve as an important first step.

I have been in this debate long enough to know that there can, and will, be many arguments against mine. So, lets please hear them. Is there a logic to redrawing provincial units? If so, why? If not, why not? I suspect it will not be so, but I hope people will focus especially on the longer-term national logic of such a move rather than whatever short-term political gains or losses this might mean to particular political operatives.

بنا کر خود بھی پئیں اور گھر والوں کو بھی دیں.

I realize routine does odd things to you.

It can bore you, inspire you and then bore you again – so that you end up doing nothing but bitching about the boring routine.

So while I was doing ‘fruitography‘ (I’m insane, B knows that, and after at least fifty ‘click click’ noises, he turned around completely baffled to see that his wife has washed and dried the cherries and is taking pictures of them, sometimes even one cherry at a time), I realized I’m a complete loser when it comes to blogging and I have literally nothing that I can blog about. And what’s worse, I can’t think of anything remotely interesting either.

Which is worse.

And now I’ve come up with a rule that is borne out of the undeniable ingenuity of a blogger with nothing worth writing …

… when in blogger’s block, bullshit about everything.

Take up random fruits and vegetables, start clicking. Pick up completely un-related subjects and talk about them.

If that doesn’t get you enough humiliation to get off your lazy ass and start thinking seriously about writing something worth your salt, nothing will.

So here I go.

Politics. It keeps going round and round in circles. Even if Obama is the first African-American president of the US, Zardari’s ours and I don’t know who I can blame for that. Benazir’s security detail or the people of Pakistan stupid enough to not knock him off his undeserved glory.

But then again. We get over stuff soon. Or maybe it’s just me.

Sports? We won the T20, Federer’s made it to semi-finals (not that I get tennis much) and I realize I’ll never like football. I don’t care how many millions they paid Ronaldo to come to Real Madrid. (80 million pounds if you’re curious – that’s more than what most people can dream of in nights of extreme indigestion.)

Family and friends? All of my best friends are in different cities, countries and timezones. One’s in some town in Canada, the other’s in Lahore, the other’s in Karachi and by the time I try to get them online, it’s 12 a.m. here in Sana’a.

Food? Atkins was started and dropped (giving up carbs is NOT easy), we found a bucket of Baskin Robbins Mango Tango and decided dieting is overrated. And B calls food a ‘celebration of life’ – and cannot give up his addiction to Pepsi.

The weather? The insanely beautiful weather here in Sana’a is extremely confusing for Karachiites. We’re used to hot, humid, sweaty and completely unpredictable. You put us in a place where it’s sweetly crisp, rains beautiful rains every week or so and you don’t need a fan to keep you fresh, the wind is enough – and we start to get insecure about ourselves.

Music? Still stuck on Aik Alif and Paimona Bitte (thanks, Ambreen!) – and while I’m at it … still can’t believe Atif Aslam pulled off something halfway decent in Coke Studio. One of the many many reasons I cannot stand Mr. Aslam, apart from his slightly stoned, drooling-at-the-mouth attitude, is that he cannot sing. Sure, we have that thing going these days for all the nasal ‘aaaa’ ‘ooo’ ‘eeee’s that are coming our way disguised in dhum dhum beats – but Atif Aslam is a bit much. That’s why Jalpari surprised me and while it made me wonder what Gauher Mumtaz must think every time Atif uses the word ‘Jal’, I can’t help but list Jalpari as one of Atif’s best. Which is a short, almost non-existent list.

Movies? Angels and Demons. I just have a few questions. I don’t know why the much-coveted anti-matter, which is so powerful that it is often called the GOD particle, has the battery life lower than a Nokia cell phone? It’ll die within 24 hours and the God particle will annihilate the Vatican.

Should’ve given that contract to the Chinese instead of the Germans.

Then there was this extreme protocol and attention given to a symbologist. People, he’s a nerd no one at lunch with in college. And the life of the next possible Pope depends on him? Well. That’s good news for all the people who eat alone and live dependent lives. Someday, you’ll get into a highly secure library and read stuff no one can and save the world. Oh and it’s totally okay if you’re faithless. The Pope’s okay with that. He just wants you to go easy on them when you write your next book.

Who eats this? Seriously? I’m asking all Dan Brown fans. I am still waiting for the day they’ll make a movie out of The Blind Assassin. That’s the day I stop cribbing about Robert Langdon.

Then Wolverine. Definitely not as bad as Angels and Demons. Though not as good as the initial X-men movies. It’s hard to beat the classics but you can’t blame a guy for trying.

Gossip Girl … (spoiler alert) … For those of you who were rooting for Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf, the season finale was for you. I still can’t understand what the hell is up Nate Archibald’s ass. Or what isn’t. Why can’t he just decide once and for all whether he’s going to be the bohemian bachelor living a cool life with Vanessa (who’s the hottest chick in the series, hands down) or follow the Vanderbilts to the City Hall and become the next governor of the state. And can Rufus cut Lily some slack? Enough is enough. I’m tired of seeing them run and forth from each other. If they don’t get married in the next season, that’s it. They’re outta my interest cycle (they’ll be crushed I’m sure).

The only perks remain how Bass is going to screw Blair again (metaphorically of course) and stay true to his inherent ‘motherchucker’ness and how Georgina Sparks is back with a bitchin’ bang. I cannot tolerate her sweet-smelling-God-filled-soul. She makes me want to smack her with a video of Kevin Smith’s “Dogma” when she’s all ‘Jesus Take the Wheel’.

And last but not in any way the least. The West Wing.

If Americans could elect a man like Josiah Bartlett, they’d still be pro-Israel but they wouldn’t be as ‘misunderstood’ as they are now in the world. And though it is impossible to have a Nobel Laureate nominated and elected as the President of the most powerful country in the world (Hollywood actors, sure), it’d still be worth it for Americans if they could pursue the great American dream along those lines. The character “Josiah Bartlett” played by Martin Sheen is probably one of the most admirable fictional characters I have ever seen or read.

My top favorites in the entire series are C. J. Cregg, Jed Bartlett and Josh Lyman. B loves Lord John Marbury for his acumen and completely befitting analysis of the Indo-Pak conflict in the series.

Television. This good? It’s not easy and it doesn’t happen everyday. Aaron Sorkin must and must be lauded for this show and I can only sympathize with the fans of Studio Sixty on Sunset Strip that deserved to be renewed but didn’t because it was ‘too intelligent’ for American audiences.

Shows like Boston Legal, West Wing, Studio Sixty, House MD and 30 Rock break milestones. And they try to do it without eye candy.

Boston Legal was about two fat lawyers, one with Alzheimers and the other with an indecent foot fetish, nearing the end of their careers. It’s filled with social and political issues that are extremely deep and poignant.

West Wing is filled with American politics that no one really gives about. The living example of Sarah Palin being chosen as a running mate tells you that American politics can turn into a strange joke instead of the serious business the Founding Fathers wanted it to be.

House isn’t just about Hadley being a bisexual, believe it or not. The character is complex and touches, almost in each episode, on philosophical questions that get you thinking. It’s extremely well-made, not to mention hilarious when it comes to House’s bedside manner. The series isn’t about a bunch of ridiculously goodlooking people sleeping around with each other. It’s about a conflicted guy who’s got a profession crazy enough to keep him on his toes.

30 Rock is intelligent as well – and wouldn’t you know it – it has just picked up ratings. The initial year didn’t go so well for it and was almost about to go dead until it won those Emmys.

And that’s when I wonder if I’d ever watch Grey’s Anatomy if it weren’t for Katherine Heigl’s natural charm or Meredith Grey’s darkness. It’s just crazy how they all kept playing tennis with each other’s love lives. Same goes for Gossip Girl. If Nate Archibald and Rufus Humphrey don’t decide this time for sure, they’re getting knocked off my favorites’ list. Which, I am quite sure, bring them down with the bang that’ll destroy their lives.

And there you have it.

I’m outta bullshit. And ready to understand it’s time to blog about something slightly more meaningful than eye candy.

The Surreal

The electricity was available yet the neighbor’s generator had been turned on for hours, making constant grueling sound, driving him insane. He buried his head between the pillows to escape but of no avail. Not just sleeplessness he was battling with a severe headache too.

A thought occurred to him awhile later. He smiled demonically and with his eyes closed his heart churned a sentence or two. He shuddered and broke into sweat. With a blasting sound the machine had been silenced forever. No harm in using a gifted power for a valid reason, he thought, and went to sleep.

Aamir Atta: Prototype – Game Review

Radical Entertainment launched a fantastic game named Prototype on 9th June 2009 in North America and on 10th June they launched their number in Europe. Game is basically a sandbox-style action game but it differs from many aspects from other sandbox-style action games. Game was released on different counsels such as WINDOWS (PC), PS3 and XBOX 360 later on game was released in Australia.

Game has got very good response regarding its reception, well formed action and wonderful open ended game play. Game spot and other websites has given 8.5 or 9 grades out of 10. Critics have tried hard to find something bad but they couldn’t, there are some factors which frustrate the player and no doubt game is a bit similar to Resident Evil and Spiderman but ProtoType has got its own individuality and has something new and extra ordinary in it. Different kind of story and its reception makes game more interesting.

Storyline of the game is very interesting. Game is set in the city of New York where some sort of virus has attacked on the city and people are getting infected with that virus. In the game the main character is ALEX MERCER means you have to play as Alex. Story starts when Alex finds himself in the stage of Amnesia (a condition in which human memory do not works properly) in a genetic engineering company (GENTEK).

He wakes up and tries to escape from there in mean while he fights with soldiers. Alex finds that he has extra ordinary super powers in himself Alex has power to absorb the powers, skills and abilities in himself. Alex can take the shapes and all the skills of others and now Alex has to find out who was the responsible for his condition. In this game Alex has to fight with two enemies at a time one is the Special Forces named BLACKWATCH (Special Military Forces).

Alex uses all the powers and absorbing skills to find out the truth. Dana (Sister of Alex) gives Alex the people who can be useful to bring back his memory. During this Alex finds his ex-girl friend Karen, Alex didn’t know that she was working for BLACKWATCH – she injects Alex with cancer and then after a bit long Dr .Ragland helps Alex to get rid of Cancer.

After all this Alex finds that DANA is kidnapped well as the story goes ahead Alex finds out his past he finds that he was a employee of GENTEK and Alex was shot by the forces and the virus went into his body accidently and he becomes a person like this and the story continues because telling you the whole story could be a cause of interest minimization……..

Game is really different from other Sand-box Style games. 1st difference is that the player can change him into any character and can absorb the skills of any person even of his enemies. Combat system is quite well organized. Alex’s combos and way of tackling his enemies is very much appreciated by the players. Alex arms turns into the dangerous blades while absorbing the powers of others.

Critics found some mistakes in the game such as repetitive game play, they also declared the story line is weak but they admired the game. Most interesting part of the game is when Alex gets into flashback of his memory open ended play also pleasures the users and. In the game sometimes you have to fight with 3 enemies at the same time you have to battle with the Special Forces, choppers and the infected people.

You can earn bonus points from the missions and can new weapons and new abilities. Extra ordinary action speed of the character creates more excitement into the user and fighting with the tanks, choppers, enemies and zombies at the same time totally changes the definition of sand-box style…..

Aamir Atta: Downsizing or Rightsizing or Team Sizing?

Downsizing is sub function of Selection & Recruitment, and it has been in practice since long, actually we don’t know when exactly it was discovered. Downsizing is mostly done when there arises a need, but that’s not the only rule, we have seen organizations downsizing even when need was not in place.

Recently, in USA alone, hundreds of thousands of professionals lost their jobs and leftover are highly insecure. Corporations continue to cut jobs and in fact they are eyeing current fiscal year by evaluating recessions’ performance to decide the future of employers. Such a situation is called “workforce optimization in response to economy decline”.

In last two years, we observed that in Pakistan recession hit couple of sectors including banking and advertising. Resultantly, both the sectors optimized their workforce on large-scale, in which most of the banks limited their operations.

I believe before I discuss downsizing conditions, let me first discuss that what recession actually is and its impact on workforce?

What is Recession?

Recession is crunch of economy for more than 6 months consecutively with a decrease in production of goods and services by the people of the country. So in particular, every product and service oriented organization is dependent on the external customers.

As in the decline of economy customer will not be willing to buy a particular product or service because of future uncertainty in the market and eventually all this result into a burden on a particular organization. This burden is equalized by downsizing, as this is assumed the most liquid way to save some bucks.

So, if you understood what recession is and how it gets started and how it comes to an end. Then let me start the topic that why companies do downsizing.

Low Revenues
Economy Crunch
Cost Cuttings
Workforce Optimization
Low Performers – (But , company needs to do plenty of stuff before downsizing them)
Lots of other examples are available around you.

In Pakistan, we have not seen usual downsizings curve as it happened in rest of the world; reason could be that we have not been affected by recession that badly, as the western countries..

Downsizing for the sake of Team Sizing

Recently, we have seen some drastic downsizing in many industries of Pakistan. People claiming it downsizings, but I believe we better call it “Team Sizing”.

Team sizing is the concept that is usual with the change of leadership – as the new leaders comes into an organization, he/she brings in new strategy, vision and concept of a team with him. These new things are sometimes beneficiary for in-groups (like minded) and non-beneficiary for out-groups.

This is common practice that managers take their teams to next destinations whenever they switch the jobs or given new assignments and they also believe that their success is only because of their teams.

That’s what actually happened in banking sector, upon the change of leader, his/her team got changed, as he took it with him/herself, or the HR kicked the whole team out of the play land.

Again, this is not hard and fast rule, but we have observed this happening on many occasions.

Now let me discuss downsizing because of “Non-Performance”:

Now days, professional organizations are much busy in retaining the workforce instead of lay-offs, because of the cost they incurred on developing a single personnel for a particular job. So, when they do “Cost Benefit” analysis they get to know that it’s more feasible retaining an individual instead of laying him/her off. For the purpose corporations conduct proper research on these particular non performers for answering a question that why they are not performing well? And on the basis of findings they designed specific programs like:

Counseling
Trainings / Workshops
Forceful leaves (to enjoy time with family)
Needs assessment and relationship with reward
Job rotations
Task rotations
Skill set assessment and development and this list goes on!!!

Particular example that I want to quote here is of AT&T :

AT&T developed an alternative to downsizing called Resource Link, which is a temporary unit within AT&T composed of AT&T general management and technical professionals. These associates perform much of the work that AT&T previously contracted out. They work on a contractual basis for the various AT&T business units backfilling vacant positions, supporting temporary peaks in workload, providing specialized support, importing needed expertise, or providing cross-business unit experience.

Participants are AT&T associates who have been declared excess by their business divisions, or associates who have volunteered to broaden their experiences and opportunities. Approximately 600 associates participate; over one-half are volunteers who chose to work in Resource Link. This pool of employees is cost effective and helps to balance staffing needs with business needs (AT&T, 1994).

Conclusion:

Like above, there are lots of best practices available around us to take the litmus test before doing anything like downsizing. Organizations have particular policies for downsizings in intense times. But just informing of non performance and giving a job dismissal letter at spot is not an ethical practice in all over the world.

There is lot of work to do before lying off someone from job, instead of just informing that “You are no more with us!” “They follow ILO in giving 3 months’ salary in advance”, but why don’t they follow ILO in obeying other particular sections.

Organizations need to think about developing particular department for personnel’s development – most commonly known as “HRD” Human Resource Development Department or Organizational Development Department to conduct semi annually skills performance assessments and many other best practices instead of that rigged “Performance Appraisals” .

I know couple of organizations in Pakistan which are working on Organizational Development in the particular industries, but still they need transparencies and complete implementation of best practices in particular cases in the organizations. “The Next Challenge for the whole world is to build Human resources instead of laying offs as world is already scarce with built in talent professionals”.

This is also fact that with recession, lay-offs are common to observe as most of the companies do not have good profits in achieving their targets, so particular remedy for remaining at the same profit or at bit low profit point is to lay-offs, but again it is in the case of recession not in the case of non-performers.

میرے ایک ماموں ہیں، نام ان کا خادم حسین۔ سگے ماموں نہیں ہیں، میری اماں کے ماموں زاد بھائی۔ جنھیں میں برملا سگا کہہ سکتا ہوں، وجہ یہ ہے کہ میری اماں سے ان کو بڑی نسبت ہے۔ دونوں کا بچپن ایک ساتھ گذرا ہے، میری اماں کی بہت عزت کرتے ہیں تو اسی وجہ سے مجھے بڑے عزیز ہیں۔ میری اماں کا خیال ہے کہ وہ ایک "فراڈیے" ہیں۔
جب بھی پوچھو تو کہتی ہیں، "ارے فراڈیا نہیں تو کیا؟ یہ بھی بھلا کوئی بات ہے، کبھی تو ہفتے میں ۲ بار چکر لگائے گا اور کبھی مہینوں غائب"۔ بات ان کی بھی ٹھیک ہی ہے۔ مجھے خود بھی سمجھ نہیں آتی۔ کبھی تو ایسے غائب جیسے ہیں ہی نہیں۔ اور جب ہوں تو ایسے کہ آلتی پالتی مار کے بیٹھے اور گھنٹوں اماں سے راز و نیاز جاری۔ علاقے کی نسبت بھی کچھ ایسے سن رکھیں۔ ہمیں اکثر لگتا ہے کہ اسلام آباد کے رسیا ہیں اور اپنے قصبے سے کوئی نسبت ہی نہ ہو۔ لیکن جب بھی قصبے میں مرگ موت ہو جائے تو جی اعلان وہی کر رہے ہوتے ہیں، قبر بنوانا تو جیسے ان کا من پسند شعبہ۔ کوئی جنازہ ایسا میری نظر میں نہیں گذرا جس میں ان کی شرکت نہ ہو۔
میں تو ان کو باقاعدہ چھیڑ بھی دیتا ہوں کہ جی یا تو آپ جناب الیکشن میں حصہ لینا چاہتے ہیں یا پھر گورکنوں کی کوئی تنظیم چلا رہے ہیں۔
آج بھی کچھ ایسا ہی ہوا، ہماری ایک عزیزہ وفات پاگئیں، قریبی رشتہ تھا، اور کچھ ذمہ داریاں سو فوراً سے پہلے بالاکوٹ جا پہنچا۔ میرا خیال تھا کہ میں کافی جلدی پہنچا ہوں، لیکن پہنچتے ہی دیکھا کہ یہ صاحب قبر تیار کروا رہے ہیں۔ مجھ پر نظر پڑی تو دور سے اشارہ کر دیا۔ میں ہٹ کر دیکھنے لگا۔ کوئی ایک آدھ گھنٹہ میں تماشہ کرتا رہا، جناب ایسی ماہرانہ طریقے سے قبر بنوا رہے تھے کہ جیسے ان کا "پروفیشن" ہی یہ ہو۔ خیر جب قبر مکمل ہو چکی تو میں سلام دعا کو حاضر ہوا۔
قبر سے تھوڑی دور لے گئے اور سگریٹ سلگا لیا۔ حال احوال، مصروفیات، اور رسمی باتیں ہو چکیں تو سوئی آن اٹکی میری اماں جی پر۔ دو ایک نصحیتیں حسب معمول والدہ کے حقوق اور فرائض پر کر چکنے کے بعد ایک دم سے بولے، ۔

لاہور۔۔۔اگر موثراحتیاطی تدابیر اختیار نہ کی جائیں تو موسم برسات بیشتر امراض کا باعث بنتا ہے اکثر وبائی امراض بھی اسی موسم میں پھوٹتے ہیں جسکا بنیادی سبب ‘ہمارے ہاں ناقص سیوریج سسٹم کی وجہ سے سیلابی اور بارشوں کے پانی کاعرصہ دراز تک جگہ جگہ کھڑا ہو جانا ہے جو متعفن ہوکر وبائی امراض کا باعث بنتا ہے ملیریا’ٹائیفایڈاور دیگر موسمی بخار’یرقان’ہیپا ٹائٹس ‘گیسٹرو’اسہال(دست)پیچش و پیٹ کے امراض ‘جسم میں کھچاؤٹ ‘دردیں ‘خون کی خرابی پھوڑے پھنسیاں اور گلے کی سوزش جیسے امراض برسات میں عام ہو جاتے ہے اس امر کا اظہار مرکزی سیکرٹری جنرل کونسل آف ہربل فزیشنز پاکستان اور یونانی میدیکل آفیسر حکیم قاضی ایم اے خالد نے کونسل کے زیر اہتمام ہفتہ وار مجلس مذاکرہ میں کیا۔انہوں نے کہا کہ اس موسم میں رہائشی کمروں کو کھلا رکھنا چاہئے تاکہ تازہ ہوا اوردھوپ سے وہ خشک رہیں نیز ہر ہفتے ان میں گوگل اور حرمل کی دھونی دیں یا دیگر جراثیم کش ادویہ کا اسپرے کریں۔ گندے پانی اور کیچڑوغیرہ کی صفائی کا بھی فوری بندوبست ہونا چاہیئے موسم برسات میں اے سی یا روم کولرکے زیادہ استعمال سے اعصابی کھنچاؤ’دردیں اوربخارجیسی کیفیت پیدا ہو سکتی ہے اس موسم میں ہلکے سوتی ملبوسات زیادہ بہتر ہیں جسمانی صفائی کا خاص خیال رکھیں آجکل کے دور میں جو پانی ہمیں میسّرہے اسے ہمیشہ ابال کر ہی پیئں لیکن خاص طور پرموسم برسات میں تو ابالے بغیر پانی ہرگزنہیں پینا چاہیئے اس موسم میں بعض پھل مثلا امرود ‘خربوزہ’سردا’گرمااور کھیرا وغیرہ کھانے میں خاص احتیاط کریں پھل اور سبزیاں تازہ اور اچھی طرح دھو کر استعمال کریں گلے سڑے یا پہلے سے کٹے ہوئے پھل نہ کھائیں ۔زیادہ عرصے سے ریفریجریٹر میں رکھا ہوا گوشت اور دیگر باسی اشیاء ہرگز استعمال نہ کریں کھانا ہمیشہ بھوک رکھ کراور تازہ کھائیں ذرا سی بداحتیاطی آپ کو اسہال (دست) یا ڈائریا (پیچش)میں مبتلاء کر سکتی ہے ۔ اس موسم میں پسینے کی زیادتی اور دیگر وجوہات سے جسم میں نمکیات اور حیاتین کی کمی ہو جاتی ہے لہٰذا اس کے تدارک کیلئے لیموں کی نمک ملی سکنجبین بہت مفید ہے اسی طرح طب نبویۖ کے مطابق سرکہ موسم برسات کی بیشتر بیماریوں کا بہترین علاج ہے ہیضہ سے بچنے کے لئے سرکے میں بھیگی ہوئی پیاز کا استعمال بہتر ہے سرکہ خون کو صاف کر تا ہے اور پھوڑے پھنسیوں سے بچاتا ہے پیاس کو تسکین دیتا ہے جسم کی حرارت کو اعتدال پر رکھتا ہے غذا کو جلد ہضم کرتا ہے نیز جسم سے فاسد اور غلیظ مادوں کو نکالنے میں معاون ہے ۔ برسات کے موسمی امراض سے بچاؤاور ان کے خلاف قوت مدافعت پیدا کرنے کیلئے لہسن ’ ادرک اور پیاز کا استعمال نہائت مفید ہے اگر صحیح غذائی احتیاط اور حفظ صحت کے اصولوںپر عمل کریںتو یقیناہم اس موسم کے عوارضات اور امراض سے بچ سکتے ہیں۔

میرا پاکستان: قائداعظم کی تصویر پھر غائب

جیو کی خبر کے بعد صدر زرداری کے مہمان خانے میں قائداعظم کی تصویر اس طرح آویزاں کی گئی کہ وہ مہمانوں کیساتھ ملاقات میں نظر آ سکے۔ اس کا ثبوت دو دن قبل ہونے والی صدر کی گورنر پنجاب سلمان تاثیر سے ملاقات میں نظر آنے والی قائداعظم کی رنگین تصویر ہے۔ مگر کل صدر کی وزیراعظم گیلانی اور چیف آف سٹاف کیانی سے ہونے والی ملاقات میں قائداعظم کی تصویر پھر نظر نہیں آ رہی۔
تصویر ہٹائے جانے یا اس کی جگہ بدلے جانے تاکہ یہ تصاویر میں نظر نہ آئے کی دو وجوہات ہو سکتی ہیں۔
ایک – شاید تصویر ہٹوانے والوں نے تصویر دوبارہ دکھائے جانے پر برا منایا ہو اور ان کی حکم عدولی کرنے کی جرات نہ پڑی ہو اسلیے کرسی بچانے کیلیے تصویر کی قربانی دے دی گئی۔
دو – شاید ٹرائیکا کی یہ ملاقات اتنی خفیہ ہو کہ انہیں شک ہو کہیں تصویر کی شکل میں قائداعظم کی روح ان کی باتیں نہ سن لے۔ یا پھر اس ملاقات میں ایسی باتیں کرنی ہوں گی جو قائداعظم کی تصویر کے سامنے کرتے ہوئے انہیں شرم آتی ہو گی۔
اس کے علاوہ اگر کوئی تیسری وجہ ہے تو وہ قارئین بتائیں۔

جب میں یہ سوچتا ہوں کہ میں بھی اردو محفل کا ایک رکن ہوں تو مجھے بہت خوشی ہوتی ہے۔ اردو محفل کی سالگرہ کے ساتھ ساتھ میری بھی سالگرہ ہوتی ہے اردو محفل پر کیونکہ میں 7 جولائی کو میں اردو محفل کا رکن بنا تھا۔ اور جولائی کے مہینہ میں ہی محفل کی سالگرہ ہوتی ہے۔ دو سال پہلے جب میں اردو محفل کا رکن بنا تو اس وقت میں محفل پر بہت کم لکھتا تھا۔ بس صرف پڑھتا ہی تھا۔ میں نے اردو محفل سے بہت کچھ سیکھا اور ابھی تک سیکھ رہا ہوں۔ اردو محفل خوابوں کی دنیا میں ایک حقیقت ہے۔ میں نے نا صرف یہاں سے بہت کچھ سیکھا بلکہ بہت سے اچھے اچھے انسانوں سے بھی ملاقات ہوئی ۔ مجھے یہاں اچھے استاد ، اچھے دوست ، اچھے بہن ، بھائی اور اچھے انسان بھی ملے۔ مجھے ایسا لگتا ہے اردو محفل میرا اپنا گھر ہے۔ اسی لیے تو مجھے ابوظہبی آئے ہوئے تین ماہ ہو گے ہیں لیکن مجھے ابھی تک کوئی خاص پرشانی یا مسئلہ نہیں ہوا ابوظہبی میں۔ میں جہاں بھی رہوں بس اگر اردو محفل میرے ساتھ ہو تو مجھے لگتا ہے میرے پاس سب کچھ ہے۔ [COLOR="Red"][SIZE="5"]اردو محفل پر میرے استاد[/SIZE][/COLOR] جس نے ایک لفظ بھی پڑھایا وہ تمہارا استاد ہے۔ لیکن یہاں تو کتابوں کی کتابیں پڑھی ہیں میں نے مجھے خوشی ہے جتنا کچھ میں عام زندگی میں نہیں سیکھ سکا اتنا کچھ میں نے محفل پر سیکھا ہے۔ میرے اساتذہ میں سب سے پہلا نام جناب الف عین صاحب کا ہے۔ جو بہت ہی اچھے اور مخلص انسان ہیں تصویر سے اور عمر سے تو بزرگ لگتے ہیں لیکن ان کا دل جوان ہیں۔ اور ان کے کام سے بھی اندازہ کیا جا سکتا ہے کہ وہ کتنے جوان ہیں ابوظہبی آ کر جب میری ان سے فون پر بات ہوئی تو آواز سے بھی یہ جواب ہی لگے۔ محمد وارث صاحب یہ ہیں تو میرے استاد لیکن ان کی محبت ہے یہ مجھے چھوٹا بھائی سمجھتے ہیں شاگرد نہیں۔ محفل پر جتنا تنگ میں نے وارث صاحب اور نوید صادق صاحب کو تنگ کیا ہے کسی کو بھی اتنا تنگ نہیں کیا ہو گا ۔ آج جو میں ایک دو شعر وزن میں لکھ سکتا ہوں یہ سب وارث صاحب کی ہی مہربانی ہے۔ ان کی اصلاح اور ان کی حوصلہ افزائی نے مجھے بہت کچھ دیا ۔ نوید صادق صاحب کے بارے میں کیا کہوں ۔ میرے دوست بھی ہیں بھائی بھی اور استاد بھی ہیں۔ میرے اساتذہ میں یہ واحد ہیں جن سے میری ملاقات بھی ہوئی۔ اور ملاقات بھی میرے گھر میں ہوئی میرے لیے اس سے زیادہ خوشی کی بات کیا ہو گی کہ میرے استاد مجھ سے ملنے میرے گھر آئیں ۔ نوید صاحب جتنے اچھے انسان ہیں اتنے اچھے دوست، بھائی ، اور استاد بھی ہیں ، محفل کے اراکین میں سے سب سے زیادہ فون پر میری بات نوید صادق صاحب سے ہی ہوئی ہے( ایم اے راجا بھائی سے بھی زیادہ بات ہوئی ہے لیکن ان سے میرا رابطہ محفل پر انے سے پہلے بھی تھا یہاں میں صرف محفل پر موجود اساتذہ کا زکر کر رہا ہوں) میں نے جتنی دفعہ نوید صاحب کو فون کیا ہے اس سے زیادہ دفعہ تو انھوں نے مجھے فون کیا ہو گا م م مغل ۔ میں ان کو استاد مانتا ہوں لیکن یہ خود کو استاد نہیں مانتے لیکن میرے تو استاد ہی ہیں نا میں تو یہی کہوں گا ۔ پیارے دوست ہیں اور ہر جگہ میری مدد کی بس ان سے ملاقات باقی ہے اور یہ ملاقات ایک سال سے ادھار چلی آ رہی ہے اب دیکھتے ہیں کہاں ان سے ملاقات ہوتی ہے یہ سب کچھ اردو محفل کی وجہ سے ہی ہے اگر میں اردو محفل پر نا آتا تو مجھے اتنے اچھے اساتذہ نا ملتے اور نا ہی میں کچھ سیکھ سکتا اردو محفل تیرا شکریہ سالگرہ مبارک

میرا پاکستان: پٹرول کیوں مہنگا کیا گیا؟

پٹرول سمیت تیل کی قیمتیں بڑھانے کی مندرجہ ذیل وجوہات سمجھ میں آتی ہیں۔
چیف جسٹس کے حکم سے جو قیمتیں کم کی گئی تھیں ان کا بدلہ چکایا جائے۔ اب دیکھتے ہیں چیف جسٹس اس حکم عدولی پر کیا کرتے ہیں۔ وہ کر بھی کیا سکتے ہیں سوائے چپ رہنے کے۔
ابھی سرکاری ملازمین کی جو تنخواہیں بڑھائی گئی ہیں ان کی ادائیگی وزیراعظم یا صدر نے اپنی جیب سے تھوڑی کرنی تھی۔ اس رقم کا بندوبست تو کسی نہ کسی طرح کرنا ہی تھا۔
حکومت نے جو جنگ اپنوں کیخلاف چھیڑ رکھی ہے اس کے ایندھن کا بندوبست اب صرف اتحادیوں نے تو نہیں کرنا تھا۔ اس میں اپنا حصہ ڈالنے کیلیے تیل کی قیمتیں بڑھانا ضروری تھا۔
تیل کی غیرملکی کمپنیاں جتنی آسانی سے اور جتنا زیادہ منافع پاکستان سے کما رہی ہیں اتنا شاید بہت کم ملکوں سے کما رہی ہوں گی۔ ان کمپنیوں کو مزید نوازنے کیلیے بھی تیل کی قیمتیں بڑھانا ضروری تھا۔
جب حکومت نے دیکھا کہ لوڈشیڈنگ کیخلاف مظاہرے اس کا کچھ نہیں بگاڑ سکے اور نہ ہی اس صورتحال سے حزب اختلاف نے کوئی فائدہ اٹھایا ہے تو پھر تیل کی قیمتیں بڑھانے میں کوئی مزائقہ نہیں تھا
حکومت نے جو سینکڑوں بلین کا قرضہ ورلڈ بنک اور آئی ایم ایف سے لے رکھا ہے اسے حکمرانوں نے تھوڑا ادا کرنا ہے۔ وہ عوام کے خون پسینے سے ہی ادا ہو گا جو تیل کی قیمتیں بڑھا کر بہایا جائے گا۔
ایک وقت تھا بجٹ کی تیاری بند کمروں میں ہوتی تھی اب بجٹ کی تیاری کھلے عام آئی ایم ایف کی نگرانی میں ہوتی ہے کیونکہ اصل فیصلے سالانہ بجٹ میں نہیں ہوتے بلکہ وقفے وقفے سے پورا سال ہوتے رہتے ہیں۔ اب اگر تیل کی قیمتیں بجٹ میں بڑھائی جاتیں تو بھونچال آ جاتا اب بجٹ اسمبلی سے پاس کرانے کے بعد ہلکا سا جھٹکا بھی نہیں لگے گا کیونکہ نہ کوئی اسمبلی میں احتجاج کرے گا اور نہ ہی کوئی جلوس نکالے گا۔

افتخار اجمل: جب ذمہ داری مجھ پر آن پڑی

جب میں آٹھویں جماعت میں تھا [1951ء] تو محترم والد صاحب [اللہ اُنہیں جنت میں اعلٰی مقام عطا فرمائے] نے مجھے گھر کے کاموں کی ذمہ داری دے دی ۔ 1962ء میں جب میں ملازم ہوا تو گھر کا خرچ چلانے کی ذمہ داری بھی مل گئی ۔ محترم والد صاحب 1987ء میں بیمار ہوئے اور میں گھربار چلانے کے علاوہ اُن کی تیمارداری بھی کرتا رہا ۔ اُن کی بیماری کے دوران اپنے سب سے چھوٹے بھائی کی شادی کا بندوبست بھی کیا ۔ اسلام آباد میں مکان جس میں اب ہم چاروں بھائی رہتے ہیں آدھا بنا تھا کہ والد صاحب بیمار پڑ گئے ۔ والد صاحب کے حُکم پر اُن کی بیماری کے دوران یہ مکان مکمل کرایا ۔ اس تمام عرصہ میں مجھے کوئی بوجھ محسوس نہ ہوا

جب 2 جولائی 1991ء کو محترم والد صاحب فوت ہو گئے تو مجھے یوں محسوس ہوا کہ میں ذمہ داریوں کے بوجھ تلے دب گیا ہوں ۔ وجہ یہ تھی کہ ہر کام کرنے سے قبل میں محترم والد صاحب کی منظوری یا خوشنودی حال کر لیتا تھا اور اُس کے بعد مجھے کوئی فکر نہ ہوتی تھی ۔ اُن کی وفات کے بعد ہر کام مجھے اپنی سوچ اور اپنی ذمہ داری پر کرنا تھا ۔ مجھ پر اللہ سُبحانُہُ و تعالٰی کی اتنی مہربانی رہی کہ میں نے کبھی محترم والد صاحب کی حُکم عدولی نہ کی ۔ اللہ الرحمٰن الرحیم کی کرم نوازی اور میرے والدین کی دعاؤں کا نتیجہ ہے کہ محترم والد صاحب کی وفات کے بعد سے پچھلے 18 سال میں سب کچھ بخیر و خُوبی ہوتا رہا اور سب بہنوں اور بھائیوں کو مجھ سے کوئی شکائت نہیں

You will see a file named mmcstore in C:\system.
Copy this file mmcstore.txt and paste it in your computer and open it with notepad.

But it never is is it? When we look around we kind of feel others should be like us, and when I say others I mean siblings, brothers and sisters around us who might not sometimes see what you are seeing. And being a caring brother I try my best to show them the right path. But then again, don’t I have a life of my own. Oh yes LOTS of things to do otherwise, like:-

Taking care that Mum gets the right treatment in Hospital
Taking care that little sis gets a balanced routine by taking her to her little friends to play and to the cinema so her little innocent mind doesn’t get messed by looking at mum being so ill hmm
Making sure that little brothers don’t get in to trouble
Giving them anything they want whenever they ask for it
Trying to fix things at home that sometimes no one else at home cares to worry about
Trying to tell the brothers to give more n more time to mum so she feels that you want to be around her because she is the reason you guys are here..

And tons n tons more, so I was wondering that the caring nature that I was brought up with by mum isn’t present in some of the brothers. So why is it so? Is my connection with my mother stronger since I lived my first 10 years with her seeing her sacrificing so much for me being away from dad 10 years? Is it that which is enough for me to give my life for her? hmm

What do you guys think? Do suggest your views as to your connection with your parents, either mother or father and what is the reason why you feel that certain way..

Mushtaq Ahmed Yousufi, one of the most celebrated humorists of the Urdu language, said in an interview early in his literary career that he had decided to quit writing humour. Reason? He thought it was useless to write humour if one could not write it the way Shafeeq-ur-Rahman did. (Though, luckily enough, Yousufi Sahib later decided that he could write humour the way he himself did.)

Such was the influence of Shafeeq-ur-Rahman, a humorist who ruled the world of Urdu humour for about 60 years, and is still doing so.

Shafeeq-ur-Rahman began writing and established himself in the pre-independence era like his contemporaries, such as Ibrahim Jalees, K.L. Kapoor, Krishan Chandr, Shaukat Thanvi and Rasheed Ahmed Siddiqi.

His first book ‘Kirnen’ (1942) was a collection of quasi-romantic and quasi-humorous short stories. His early stories did not show any signs of a great humorist. But in his second book, ‘Shagoofe’ (1943), romanticism gave way to humour and it was his later books, ‘Lehren’ (1944) and ‘Parwaz’ (1945), which established him as a pure humorist. ‘Himaqaten’ (1947) and ‘Mazeed Himaqaten’ (1948) earned him more accolades but the flow of his books shrank to a trickle of articles and then for almost 25 years he wrote nothing.

Zameer Jafri, in one of his columns titled ‘Kuchh na likhne ki silver jubilee’, ‘commemorated’ in his peculiar style Shafeeq’s literary hibernation.

Some believe that for writers it is a must to keep on writing or run the risk of being forgotten and that the adage ‘publish or perish’ is not true of publishers alone, but of writers as well. (In my personal opinion, most of the writers of our times ‘publish and perish’.)

Strangely enough, despite having not written for such a long time, Shafeeq-ur-Rahman did not fade out and new editions of his books were published every few years. The copies of his books that I preserve like a treasure were published mostly in the early 1970s.

So, what are the factors that have kept him very much ‘in’ for such a long time? First, his humour has such a vigour and freshness that it has not wilted even today. Some of his essays in his early books are timeless. His wit and repartee put him way ahead of some of his contemporaries who, for example Shaukat Thanvi, depended more on playfulness or situational comedy.

Azeem Baig Chughtai (though hardly his contemporary, as he died in 1941), like Shaukat Thanvi, relished pranks and his humour consists largely of cheery boisterousness.

Though Shafeeq Sahib’s humour is not shy of practical jokes, he uses it sparingly and his playfulness stops just in time to save the humour from becoming tragedy, which sometimes is the case with Chughtai. Secondly, Shafeeq is the master of parody.

Hardly any humorist in Urdu can match his satire and bubbling wit when it comes to parodies. His five parodies — ‘Qissa-i-chahaar dervesh’, ‘Qissa-i-Hatim Tai bai tasweer’, ‘Qissa Professor Ali Baba ka’, ‘Tuzk-i-Nadri urf Siyahat nama-i-Hind’ and ‘Safar nama Jahazbad Sindhi ka’ — are fine satires on our history and culture.

For instance, in his ‘Tuzk-i-Nadri’, probably the most successful of all parodies in Urdu, he not only mocks the kings and their ‘tuzks’ (memoirs), but our political system is also his target when he writes (in the words of Nadir Shah) that:

‘In those days Delhi was in the grip of election fever. Ulloo Shanaas submitted that I had become so popular in Delhi that I could win election from any constituency, no matter on whose ticket I contest it…Out of my seven opponents, two withdrew when they were presented with large amounts of cash, the third was coerced into withdrawal, the fourth had to be made an ambassador to a country, two turned out to be a bit too obstinate and one of them had to be beaten black and blue and the other died in mysterious circumstances. When polling began, the entire population of the city was invited for a feast and presented with money and valuables. And if there happened to be any impudent voter who did not admit to my popularity, he was made to accept it with the help of a stick.’ (Mazeed himaqaten, p37).

Another factor that contributed a lot to Shafeeq Sahib’s public acclaim was his popularity among the adolescent. The main character in most of his humorous short stories is a young and witty college boy who is fond of cricket and movies.

Also, Shafeeq often portrays infatuations. This gives the youth a vicarious feeling. And his characters appear kind of flirtatious, too. His most famous character, Rufi alias Shaitaan, once quips:

‘Sonny! Don’t be sulky if you miss a bus or a girl, another one will be just round the corner.’ (Himaqaten, p121).

Then he often philosophises about joys and sorrows, sweeping the young readers with the bouts of optimism and pessimism, giving semi-philosophical, semi-romantic explanations to the queries that haunt the youth.

In addition, his many essays are nothing but a collection of jokes and the essay itself is only the thread that binds them together. His characters, novel and funny, such as Rufi or Shaitaan, Maqsood Ghora, Hukoomat Aapa and Buddy, make reading joyful.

All this put together is enough to hook young readers. I don’t know exactly which way the wind is blowing these days, but in my late teens and early twenties, I had read each and every book by Shafeeq-ur-Rahman many times over.

Shafeeq-ur-Rahman was born on Nov 9, 1920, in a small town near Rohtak. He was educated at Bahawalpur, as described by Muhammad Khalid Akhter, Shafeeq’s classmate at Sadiq Dean High School and a humorist in his own right.

Shafeeq-ur-Rahman did his MBBS in 1942 from Lahore’s King Edward Medical College. Having joined the Indian Medical Service as a lieutenant, Shafeeq-ur-Rahman was posted, according to Khalid Akhter, at different war fronts during the Second World War.

He then joined Edinburgh University and London University to further his education. It certainly broadened his perspective. But both Shafeeq-ur-Rahman and Khalid Akhter were already immersed in English literature and it had definitely influenced their writings.

On Shafeeq’s style one can trace the influence of western humorists such as Stephen Leacock and Mark Twain, but he is among those writers of Urdu who are well-grounded in their own literature and culture and have a peculiar style of their own.

After independence, Shafeeq-ur-Rahman held high positions in the Pakistan Army and Navy and in December 1980 was made chairman of the Pakistan Academy of Letters, a post he held till December 1986. His other books include ‘Madd-o-jazar’ (1946), ‘Pachhtawe’ (1948), ‘Dajla’ (1980) and ‘Dareeche’ (1989).

The irreplaceable and inimitable Shafeeq-ur-Rahman died in Rawalpindi on March 19, 2000.

The fifteen days in Karachi were filled with stuff to blog about – The legendary electricty breakdown, the allergic reaction to the weather of the very city I’ve called hoem all my life, the family, Mom, sis, cousins, the shadi, the various things changed, unchanged – but ofcourse blogging isnt the priority when you have a year and a half to catch up on, and have only fifteen days to do it!

So I came back, with posts half written in my mind, aiming to put everything on record ASAP – only to find a most interesting neighbor on the flight back home! The posts shifted, the aunty gaining the top slot with no competition. BUT, reaching home to find it literally coated in dust, pushed the aunty off the top slot.

Do you know, spring washing each and every room of your home can actually be a rewarding experience – especially when you have a husband as rocking as mine and a large Papasallis Chicken Tikka Pizza around!

With me missing a laptop abhi tak, the Great Wash story had to wait till I joined back – But office, ofcourse had another story!

Making the long story short, while I’ve been away, a reporter has resigned accusing the MD of sexual harassment, I have missed getting my statement recorded in front of the Gender Equality Committee, the performance of the Bureau has dropped by a neat 50% & the management seems to have lost all direction.

BUT, the thing that pushes everything else to the background is being told, after I have already availed the leave that I was not eligible for a leave in the first place. Why I was not told of this amazing, totally un-understandable leave policy when I filed my application a whole month before taking the leave? Nobody seems to have the least idea. The consequent arguments & the pathetic solution leave me disgusted.

So the month has ended with me looking at a possible 15 day slash in my salary – an HR department whose effective response has consisted of not picking my calls (The director’s aide actually told me that the great director has been in a meeting during the 9 hours and 15 calls that I made during one single day)

Since writing about this obviously isnt good for my blood pressure, I will dedicate this post to a book meme I found at Assorted Mundanities – here’s to hoping thinking of books might actually end up improving my mood.

I have a really big fat headache. I don’t know why, but it hurts like hell. I’ve just taken 4 ibuprofen tablets, and I’m now hoping it would just go and screw nuts, so I’m gonna sit here and watch my fingers tap at the keyboard and whatever. Everything is packed and done, thank god. It’s absolutely boiling inside and its roasting outside, but its no where near as hot as it is over in pk. I have so much to look forward to eh.

I can’t believe that exams are over and college has finished. It hasn’t sunk in yet. I still think ill be going to college and seeing everyone and doing homework and class work and all. These two years have literally flew by, now looking back, it all just seems like a hundred laughs, a few tears a little here and a bit there and bang college is over.

We had our final leaver’s party the other night at a Portuguese restaurant; however the food turned out to be not soo very Portuguese but rather very Indian. It was nice and everyone was starving so that got a pass. It was a pretty place, with stunning lightening and on top of that everybody was looking lovely. You know when you go to some parties and you look at some people and you think dude, were you planning on going to the circus 4 blocks away but you took a wrong turn and ended up here? Well it wasn’t like that at all. Everybody just looked gorgeous, but it was hard to ignore the hint of sadness in some eyes.

The awards were given out, student of the year award and best subject award etc and then came the funny ones. Some act or something you say during the year which is instantly picked up by the teachers and then they give you a certificate at the end and everyone just has a friendly laugh about it. This year it was pretty interesting, because what they had done was that our head read out a four line poem about this particular person and then everybody had to guess who it was and then that student would come, collect their certificate and get their picture snapped with the principle.

I think from all of us, Prokz’s was the funniest award. At the beginning of the year, just a week after college had started Prokz managed to get herself into a pretty scary and amusing situation. It was Friday afternoon and they had just had a sociology revision class. Prokz was waiting upstairs for her dad to come and pick her up. The revision lesson wasn’t up on the college notice board due to some mistake in the timetable making, so no one knew that there was actually a revision lesson going on apart from the students. So at half four when college ended, the teacher on the ground floor let out all the students, locked up the building and left. With Prokz still inside. She hadn’t bothered to check around if anyone else was about for she didn’t know. This caused quite a big hoo haa around college for about a week, everyone wanted to know ‘the girl who got herself locked in’ so on Prokz’s funny certificate it said ‘the wannabe celebrity!’ they thought she did it on purpose! :D

After that came the speeches and thankyou’s and all the normal stuff you get on leaver do’s and then we got up to perform our song. There were five of us and we had wanted to do something totally different, not a speech cos thats what everyone does, so we came up with a song. Our very own version of Akon’s I wanna make up right now na na! I suggest you listen to the song first before you read on :D

Haha, it was nothing great, half of it didn’t even make sense, but it was fun and everyone loved it. The teachers thought it was absolutely fantastic and had a good laugh over it.

I just can’t believe I won’t be seeing these people ever again. Everyone will just go their separate ways and no one is sure whether their paths shall ever cross again. These two years have been the best years of my life. I have met so many people, learnt so many things, been and seen and got the shirts. It was amazing. I haven’t just learnt about Augustine’s theodicy or Labov’s narrative framework or the eclectic approach in psychology, but iv learnt about myself. About me. About Smiley. Sometimes I thought I didn’t know who I was, I felt as though I knew book characters better than I knew myself, but through these two years I’ve found Smiley and I’ve gotten to know her better. It takes time, of course it does, but one eventually gets there. I’ve seen people who have struggled and stumbled through life and one of the reasons is because they don’t know who they are, and what they want. Who is that person within them, the person deep down, buried beneath?

I’m going to miss everyone at college, all my teachers, class mates and friends. They have all touched my life in different ways. It’s true what they say about teachers, they are indeed special people, with glowing lights, who hold our hand and guide us and teach us many things. And friends, what can you say? I was once told by a wonderful friend of mine that life is like a jigsaw, and people are like jigsaw pieces, they come into our life and when they leave, new people come and they take that jigsaw piece’s place and it goes on. But then you have the seasonal friend, the friend that comes for a reason and the friend that comes to stay for a life time.

Last week the news about Jinnah’s maternal great grandson Aslam Jinnah surfaced as to how miserable and poor life his family were living while being the great grandson of Jinnah he should have some recognition. I was wondering Jinnah had only one daughter Dina Wadia (nèe Jinnah).

Dina got married to a Parsi born Indian Neville Wadia against the wishes of her father. Wikipedia states:

Mahommedali Currim Chagla, who was Jinnah’s assistant at the time, recalls:

“Jinnah, in his usual imperious manner, told her that there were millions of Muslim boys in India, and she could have anyone she chose. Reminding her father that his wife (Dina’s mother Rattanbai), had also been a non-Muslim, the young lady replied: ‘Father, there were millions of Muslim girls in India. Why did you not marry one of them?’ And he replied that, ’she became a Muslim’”.

Dina and Neville lived in Mumbai and had a son and a daughter. Dina’s son Nusli Wadia is an industrialist and business tycoon. His sons – Dina’s grandsons and Jinnah’s great grandsons are Ness Wadia and Jeh (a.k.a Jehangir) Wadia.

About Jinnah’s rest of extended family:

The only grandson of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah is Nusli Wadia, Chief Executive Bombay Dying & Manufacturing Company and lives in Bombay. There is no other grandson of Quaid-i-Azam. The only great grandsons are sons of Nusli Wadia who also live in Bombay. Jinnah’s daughter Dina Wadia lives in New York and Bombay.

This was stated by Liaquat Merchant, grandnephew of Quaid-i-Azam and grandson of Jinnah’s sister Mariambai in a clarification following media coverage which projected Aslam Jinnah as grandson or great grandson of Quaid-i-Azam and invitation extended to him by executives of Baitul Maal in Islamabad.

He said he had in past clarified his position on several occasions during period 2004 to 2007. He said it was incorrect to describe anyone except Nusli Wadia as Jinnah’s grandson.

Merchant, who is Administrator Estate of Quaid-i-Azam, Managing Trustee Jinnah Foundation, Executive Trustee Quaid-i-Azam Aligarh Education Trust, President Jinnah Society, author of publications on Jinnah and recipient of Sitara-e-Imtiaz awarded by President of Pakistan in recognition of his publications on Jinnah, public services in health, education, said he had never met Aslam but thought he was probably a descendent from Nathoo Poonja family.

He said Quaid-i-Azam’s father Jinnah Poonja had two brothers — Walji Poonja and Nathoo Poonja. While grandsons of Walji Poonja had come forward and made claim for a share in Estate of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah in accordance with Hanafi/Sunni law in their capacity as distant kindred claiming through Jinnah’s paternal uncle Walji Poonja, there was no claim by any male descendent of Nathoo Poonja but a claim filed by one Jenabai, a daughter-in-law of one of grandsons of Nathoo Poonja but her application was dismissed as it did not merit consideration. No other claim has been filed up to date by any member of Nathoo Poonja family.

He said if Aslam is a descendent of Nathoo Poonja, he should establish his ancestry and make a claim before the Sindh High Court for a share. He said he only wished for record to be set straight and had no grievance or reservation against any member of Nathoo Poonja family.

Liaquat Merchant said descendents of Walji Poonja who were settled in Karachi included Muhammad Ali, Jaffer Ali, Hussein Ali and Ghulam Ali who are now survived by Amir Ali son of Hussainali Gangji Walji.

The immediate family of Quaid-i-Azam comprised of his daughter Mrs Dina Wadia and her son Nusli Wadia. Quaid’s sisters are Rehmatbai, Mariambai, Shirinbai and Fatima Jinnah. His brother Bande Ali died and his brother Ahmad who was married to a Sunni lady had one daughter Fatima Goepfert.

Merchant said children of Quaid’s sisters Rehmatbai, Mariambai and Shirinbai are no more alive. Daughter of Ahmed Jinnah lived in Switzerland while Fatima Jinnah did not marry.

Grandchildren of Quaid’s sister Mariambai, presently living in Karachi, are Kulsoom Ibrahim, Zehra Chandoo, Gulshan Chandoo, Rohina Peerbhoy, Liaquat Merchant, Hussein Ebrahim and Moonira Kassam. Other grandchildren of Jinnah’s sisters Rehmatbai and Mariambai live in Bombay and Calcutta.

Quaid’s grand nephew issues clarification

Even if Aslam Jinnah is a relative of Quaid then the media shouldn’t call him his maternal great grandson. He might be a distant relative or he may not be related to him at all.

The history we read at schools never talk about such things. It is the responsibility of media and the historians to set the record straight.

All I know about supersonic is that it sounds like a huge explosion and often when the fighter jets break the sound barrier people misunderstand it for a bomb blast. Here is an interesting news and a photo.

The breaking of the sound barrier is not just an audible phenomenon. As a new picture from the U.S. military shows, Mach 1 can be quite visual.

This widely circulated new photo shows a Air Force F-22 Raptor aircraft participating in an exercise in the Gulf of Alaska June 22, 2009 as it executes a supersonic flyby over the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis.

The visual phenomenon, which sometimes but not always accompanies the breaking of the sound barrier, has also been seen with nuclear blasts and just after space shuttles launches, too. A vapor cone was photographed as the Apollo 11 moon-landing mission rocketed skyward in 1969.

The phenomenon is not well studied. Scientists refer to it as a vapor cone, shock collar, or shock egg, and it’s thought to be created by what’s called a Prandtl-Glauert singularity.

Here’s what scientists think happens:

A layer of water droplets gets trapped between two high-pressure surfaces of air. In humid conditions, condensation can gather in the trough between two crests of the sound waves produced by the jet. This effect does not necessarily coincide with the breaking of the sound barrier, although it can.

حیدرآبادی: لبراہن کمیشن رپورٹ : تحقیقات مکمل

6-ڈسمبر-1992ء کے سیاہ دن ایودھیا میں بابری مسجد شہید کئے جانے کے ایک ہفتہ بعد اس شہادت کی تحقیقات کے لئے جو کمیشن جسٹس لبراہن کی سرکردگی میں قائم کیا گیا ، اسے "لبراہن کمیشن" کا نام دیا گیا تھا۔

تقریباً 17 سال کی طویل تحقیقات کے بعد 30-جون-2009ء کو (ریٹائیڑڈ) جسٹس لبراہن نے لبراہن کمیشن رپورٹ ، وزیر داخلہ پی۔چدمبرم کے ساتھ وزیر اعظم من موہن سنگھ کو پیش کر دی ہے۔

رپورٹ کی پیش کشی کے بعد جسٹس لبراہن نے کہا :
آج میں آزاد ہو گیا ہوں۔
17 سال کی طویل مدت اور 48 مرتبہ توسیع کی ضرورت پیش آنے کی بنیادی وجہ انہوں نے بعض افراد کے عدم تعاون اور گواہوں کے پیش ہونے میں پس و پیش کا نتیجہ قرار دیا۔

لبراہن کمیشن کی رپورٹ کو پارلیمنٹ کے حالیہ بجٹ سیشن کے دوران کاروائی رپورٹ کے ساتھ پارلیمنٹ میں پیش کیا جائے گا اور اس کے بعد ہی اس رپورٹ پر مباحث ممکن ہوں گے۔

ابھی اس مشہور و معروف کمیشن کی رپورٹ کا اصل مواد منظر عام پر نہیں آیا ہے حالانکہ آئی-بی-این ٹی-وی چینل نے دعویٰ کیا ہے کہ اس رپورٹ کے اقتباسات اسے حاصل ہو گئے ہیں۔

رپورٹ سے متعلق کچھ جھلکیاں :

** ایل کے ایڈوانی کی رتھ یاترا پر تنقید تو کی گئی لیکن کلیدی قصوروار کی حیثیت سے رپورٹ میں ان کا نام نہیں لیا گیا۔
** سابق وزیر اعظم پی وی نرسمہا راؤ پر مسجد کے انہدام کو روکنے کے لئے مناسب اقدامات نہ کرنے پر رپورٹ میں ان پر تنقید کی گئی۔
** مرلی منوہر جوشی ، اوما بھارتی اور ونئے کٹیار کو رپورٹ میں اس سانحے کا قصور وار قرار دیا گیا۔

** بی-جے-پی کیمپ میں ہلچل مچ گئی ہے۔ اوما بھارتی نے انہدام کی ذمہ داری قبول کرنے کے ساتھ ساتھ پھانسی کی سزا قبول کرنے پر بھی آمادگی ظاہر کی ہے۔
** یو-پی-اے نے اس مسئلہ پر بی-جے-پی کو پارلیمنٹ میں الگ تھلگ کر دینے کی کوشش کرنے کا ارادہ ظاہر کیا ہے۔
** سینئر کانگریسی لیڈر ڈگ وجئے سنگھ نے شہادت کے موقع پر برپا کئے جانے والے بی-جے-پی قائیدین کا نعرہ "ایک دھکہ اور دو" اور اس جیسے دیگر نعروں کی یاد دلاتے ہوئے بی-جے-پی قائیدین پر نکتہ چینی کا آغاز کر دیا ہے۔
** کُل ہند بابری مسجد ایکشن کمیٹی نے رپورٹ کا خیرمقدم کیا ہے۔ چئرمین جاوید حبیب نے بیان دیا کہ مسلمانوں کو اس رپورٹ کا عرصہ دراز سے انتظار رہا ہے۔ شہادت کے مجرموں کے خلاف مقدمہ چلانے فاسٹ ٹریک عدالتیں قائم کرنے کا انہوں نے پُرزور مطالبہ بھی کیا ہے۔
** بی-جے-پی نے کانگریس پر سازش کا الزام لگاتے ہوئے کانگریس کو چیلنج دیا کہ وہ متنازعہ مقام پر مسجد تعمیر کرنے کے اپنے وعدہ کو پورا کرے۔
** کانگریس کے ترجمان منیش تیواری نے کہا کہ حکومت رپورٹ کا تفصیلی مطالعہ کرنے کے بعد اس پر مناسب قدم اٹھائے گی۔ ایک اور ترجمان شکیل احمد نے کہا کہ جب حکومت اگلا قدم اٹھائے تب ملک کو مسجد کی شہادت کے واقعے کے پس پردہ سچائی کو جاننے کا موقع ملے گا۔
